Fire Emblem Fortune’s Weave Revealed During Latest Nintendo Direct!

Four stories are about to collide!

Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave, Nintendo Direct

The Nintendo Direct that just aired had plenty of things to show off, but the big question for many, including myself, was “How would nintendo end things to make us excited for 2026?” Thankfully, they ended with a bang, as they revealed the first trailer for Fire Emblem Fortune’s Weave! This Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive is clearly building upon what was forged in Fire Emblem Three Houses on the Switch, and in more ways than one. I’ll get to that in a bit, though. Let’s start with what we see in the trailer.

The key element of the Nintendo Direct trailer was that there are four main characters in the tale: Cai, Theodora, Dietrich, and Leda. They are all brought to a Roman-like city where the “Heroic Games” are being held. They all have different goals that they’re seeking. Some seek to fight for family. Others want to be a true ruler and show their strength. Another wants revenge. And so on. The story will apparently interweave between the four tales, so it’ll be interesting to see if it bounces between them all, or if it follows the approach of Three Houses and offers four distinct campaigns. Time will tell. At the end, the “Sovereign” of the games states that the ones who win will get a “wish” granted. A high prize indeed.

As for gameplay, we definitely see a mixture of what Three Houses and Engage gave us, and I think that’s the right call, as both added unique elements to the franchise.

Undoubtedly, the biggest shock was the final scene, where Sothis appeared, but in adult form! She was “The Beginning” in Three Houses, could this be Sothis, “The Present” or “Future” in Fire Emblem Fortune’s Weave? We’ll find out when the game drops next year!
