It’s no secret that Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade has been out for a while. In fact, its sequel is out, too, and the third game might get a reveal soon enough. However, not everyone has had the chance to play it, due to the game being rooted on PS4/PS5 and PC. That will change in January, though, when the game will drop on the Nintendo Switch 2. That’s a big get for Nintendo, as it shows Square Enix is willing to bring its games to their new system.
However, there are some who still wonder whether the Nintendo Switch 2 can “handle certain games.” As such, The Big N and Square Enix have put out a demo for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade that you can play right now to see how it does.
The free FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE demo is out now on #NintendoSwitch2! Experience the iconic first chapter and carry over your save data at launch on Jan 22, 2026.

That’s pretty cool. Plus, as the tweet notes, the demo will allow you to transfer save data, so you can literally pick things up where you left them off last time. While no release date announcement has been given for Rebirth, it’s fair to think it might come out in 2026, especially with the third and final entry in the “remake saga” on the horizon.
