Fans React To Donkey Kong Bananza Hands-On Experience

People are going...ape...for the title...
By Todd BlackMay 13, 2025
Donkey Kong Bananza, Nintendo Direct

There’s a reason why so many people are excited for Donkey Kong Bananza. The Switch era was fantastic in bringing back numerous franchises to prominence, but DK was relegated to remasters and remakes. Sure, they sold well, but many hoped that would lead Nintendo to innovate the franchise in a big way, or, at the very least, continue with what they had done before. Thankfully, the Switch 2 reveal answered our prayers via the game’s trailer, which highlighted a bold new look for DK, while also emphasizing an open-world, destructible environments, and more.

While many of us will have to wait for July 17th for the game to come out, Donkey Kong Bananza was a part of the Switch 2 Experience Tour, and Nintendo itself posted reactions from gamers who got to try it out:

The banana hunt is on 🍌💪

So, as you can see, gamers reacted well to what they played, and more is to come when the game releases in about two months!
