Evo USA 2025: Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. Release Date Revealed

By Kevin KellyAugust 2, 2025
Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage

After the reveal earlier this year, Sega and RGG Studio have settled on a release date for Virtua Fighter 5 REVO. The game will now be called Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage and will be seeing an October 30th release date. This will be for Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Steam’s edition will be a free update. Nintendo Switch 2’s release date is still to be determined. PlayStation 4’s version of the game, Ultimate Showdown, may not be getting any additional updates.

The World Stage

A new single-player mode, titled “World Stage,” will also be available in the new version. In past interviews, Sega wanted to ensure that REVO was getting a substantial update instead of a straight port of Ultimate Showdown. The game promises to mimic professional Virtua Fighter legendary competitors, such as Himajima, Setsuna X, ChinpanJ, and Fuudo, for challenging CPU battles. The mode seems to be reminiscent of Virtua Fighter 5’s Quest mode.

Challenger Dural Comes

Dural will be a playable character in Virtua Fighter 5 REVO World Stage. J6’s mysterious monstrosity, and longtime series final boss, will be available to use alongside the fighters without any codes or special ways to attain her. Hopefully, Dural will be banned from tournaments. Dural has a combination of moves from every fighter in the game at her disposal. Suplexes, command throws, reversals, and more are embedded into Dural. Dural’s unfair advantage lies within her rapid punch specials and armor.

The Test Before Launch

A Beta test will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, early next month. The 30th Anniversary Edition will also be available with the bonuses from the original R.E.V.O. release, with soundtracks, swimsuits, and customizations to return. The Legendary Pack, which contained Virtua Fighter polygon skins and the Yakuza pack, will be back. No word on the Tekken 7 collaboration pack’s return thus far.
