EVO 2024 Game Lineup Revealed

By Kevin KellyFebruary 6, 2024
EVO 2024 Lineup has been revealed.

For those who decided to skip out on the Announcement Video for the EVO 2024 main event (and the Moment 37 flashback at Chipolte and whoever handles Tekken’s ability to understand multiple languages per fighter) – we got you. The upcoming fighting game tournament, EVO 2024, and the roster of games for the Vegas show have been revealed.

Here are the eight games selected for the main stage of EVO 2024:

    • Street Fighter 6
    • Tekken 8
    • Guilty Gear Strive
    • Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising
    • Under Night In-Birth II Sys Celes
    • Mortal Kombat 1
    • The King of Fighters XV
    • Street Fighter III: Third Strike

Developer French Bread has swapped out Melty Blood, which appeared at EVO 2023, for the recently released Under Night In-Birth II, while Tekken 8 makes its debut to replace Tekken 7 on the main stage. Mortal Kombat also changes its’ guard to the latest entry, Mortal Kombat 1.  Guilty Gear Strive and King of Fighters XV is back, while the tag fighters Dragonball FighterZ and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 have left the building. In a sense, Mortal Kombat 1 is close to tagging as much as King of Fighters ’99-01 was with the Kameo system.

We tried to guess this ourselves, but we seemed to come up short with some surprises despite being close. Evo Las Vegas has followed suit with Evo Japan and has brought back Street Fighter 3: Third Strike back from yonder. As for the order gone wrong, Daigo Umehara and Justin Wong having this moment solidified the Street Fighter III: Third Strike  return as their epic Evo battle has been the staple of the game for many.  No one can really recover from a dropped combo of whatever hilarity this was going for. Vicious tried.
Evo 2024 is happening on July 19-21, 2024, at the Las Vegas Convention Center West Hall. Registration is now open.
