Elden Ring Nightreign Shows Off The Recluse with a New Trailer

FromSoftware and Bandai Namco Entertainment have shared a few trailers lately showcasing Elden Ring Nightreign characters. The latest trailer for a playable character, or Nightfarer, shows off the Recluse. A versatile mage, the Recluse commands powerful spells.

And while this Nightfarer excels at casting spells tied to staves, she can also syphon elements from friends and foes alike. Players can then use three of these elements as a magic cocktail to create a unique spell on the fly.

Running low on FP? The magic cocktail skill soaks up FP as well as an element. It simultaneously preps you to cast standard spells while loading up an elemental spell—great for emergencies such as reviving a downed player. The Recluse also has an ability unleashing a blood chant to allow teammates to replenish health by fighting branded foes.

The Recluse is for Elden Ring fans who want a dedicated spellcaster class or just like to create a bit of chaos on the battlefield. Of the four classes in the network test, the Recluse quickly became my personal favorite. If you also always go for the mage, look no further.

The Recluse is one of the four originally announced Nightfarers. But we previously got two new additions of the Iron Eye and the Raider. This brings the total up to six:

  • Duchess (melee)
  • Recluse (ranged)
  • Guardian (melee)
  • Wylder  (melee)
  • Iron Eye (ranged)
  • Raider (melee)

FromSoftware has shared that Elden Ring Nightreign will have eight playable characters upon release. After showing off two new characters, the studio is giving previously announced characters some love. That still leaves announcements for two remaining characters. Speculation suggests that the last two may be a Samurai class and a summoner. But we’ll find out for sure soon enough.

Elden Ring Nightreign launches on May 30 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
