Elden Ring Nightreign Guide: How to Access Ranni’s Tower

By Keith MitchellMay 29, 2025

In Elden Ring Nightreign, you’ll run into a mix of familiar faces and places—from bosses that longtime FromSoftware fans will recognize, to iconic landmarks pulled straight from Elden Ring. One such landmark is Ranni’s Tower, and just like before, getting access to it isn’t as simple as walking through the front door.

In this guide, we’ll break down everything we’ve discovered so far about how to gain access to Ranni’s Tower in Elden Ring Nightreign. So you’re not left scratching your head (or banging it against the wall) while that ominous blue death ring creeps closer.

How to enter Ranni’s Tower in Elden Ring Nightreign

Scattered throughout the Elden Ring Nightreign map will be several versions of Ranni’s Tower, which are great places to get upgrades for your characters, especially the Recluse. When you first approach the tower, there’s a good chance you’ll see the front door blocked. Upon attempting to enter the tower, you’ll be prompted to “Find crest”, which will gain you access to the tower.

But that’s easier said than done when death is breathing down your neck. So, instead of wasting time guessing, try these methods. Some are easier than others, and some won’t be apparent, so try them all.

  • If the front entrance is open, the door to the reward at the top may still be blocked. If that’s the case, look behind you when facing the sealed door for the crest.
  • If the front entrance is open, the door to the reward at the top may still be blocked. If that’s the case, look on the first floor on the right side under the archway. You’ll know you’re at the right one when it is empty, the other side has a statue. Strike it to reveal the crest.

  • Look for the crest above the tower entrance. This one is easy to miss.
  • Strike the fake Imp statue in front of the tower.
  • Break the bricks on the left side of the tower facing the front door on the ground level. It will be a protruding portion of the wall with a crest hiding behind it.
  • Find the crest in the water on the east side of the tower, facing the door.
  • Attack the moving tree stump nearby. If it’s this one, it will be fairly obvious, as it sticks out. It’s also quick.
  • Check the bush in front of the steps, there could be a crest tucked inside.

You’ll know that the door is now open when you hear a sound and the message in the bottom right corner that says “A Rise’s contraption is unlocked.”

With the door open, make your way up the stairs and collect your reward. And don’t assume this tower is only for Recluse or Revenant classes. Ranni’s Tower has something for everyone. Don’t skip it.
