The nightmare isn’t over yet, Nightfarers. Starting July 30, FromSoftware is rolling out update 1.02 for Elden Ring Nightreign, and this one’s a game-changer, literally. After all the begging and pleading, FromSoft is finally adding the much-anticipated Duo Mode for Nightreign, which lets two players team up and explore Limveld’s horrors together as kindred souls.
It’s not just a simple co-op patch either. This update introduces a fresh layer of strategy, synergy, and survival as you and a partner take on the darkness side by side. Whether you’re diving into twisted dungeons or taking down corrupted beasts, Duo Expeditions lets you experience Nightreign’s brutal world in a whole new way.
Alongside Duo mode, the 1.02 patch also brings several quality-of-life improvements. While specifics haven’t been fully detailed just yet, expect tweaks that enhance performance, streamline mechanics, and address player feedback from the community.
As someone who’s been neck-deep in Nightreign since day one, I can’t lie, this Duo mode should’ve been included from the start. But I’m also not going to complain, because I know plenty of folks (myself included) have been waiting for something exactly like this. It’s almost here, and it’s about to change the way we survive the night.
Now, if only FromSoft could do something about that lack of crossplay.
Elden Ring Nightreign is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
