It didn’t even take a full day after Lukeyui—the creator of the Elden Ring Nightreign Duo mod that lets two players play without waiting for a third—to see a follow-up mod land. Naturally, the first question that came up was scaling. Since Lukeyui’s mod didn’t account for scaling, you and your co-op partner would still be facing bosses balanced for three players. Not ideal.
Thankfully, that’s no longer a problem. A new mod created by TheHolyApple over at Nexusmods, now works alongside Lukeyui’s duo mod to address scaling across the board, including boss health. This is called the Scaling for Duos mod, and you can grab the mod now over at NexusMods.com.
This new mod tweaks several key stats, including Vigor, Mind, and Stamina, to ensure a balanced experience. It also adjusts rune drops to prevent players from hitting level 15 in the blink of an eye. Boss health and difficulty have been rebalanced too, so fights don’t drag on longer than they need to. And yes, this mod might just be what the doctor ordered.
It’s a great addition for anyone who wants to tear through Limveld with a friend, without waiting on a third person to show up.
But that’s not all. TheHolyApple has plans to expand the mod even further, including visible player stats and support for four-player co-op—assuming Lukeyui updates the duo mod to allow four-player sessions in Nightreign.
So, if you were holding off on using the duo mod because of the lack of scaling, this new companion mod fixes that and makes the whole experience much smoother.
