Elden Ring for Nintendo Switch 2 Gets ESRB Rating

Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition for Nintendo Switch 2 has been rated by ESRB with an M for Mature 17+ rating, which suggests that an announcement regarding its release date may be coming soon. This release date has not yet been officially confirmed by FromSoftware and Bandai Namco.

The perfect opportunity for this could be the Bandai Namco Summer Showcase, which will be broadcast on Wednesday, July 2. However, Elden Ring is not listed among the titles promoted for the event.

Alternatively, the announcement might come unexpectedly or during Gamescom 2025, which will take place from August 20 to 25 and will be opened by the Opening Night Live, with many reveals.

The Nintendo Switch 2 version of the soulslike game directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki will likely aim to deliver technical quality comparable to that of other consoles, while also offering significant advantages, such as the ability to play on the go.

Elden Ring for Nintendo Switch 2 was announced with a trailer last April and is expected to be distributed via Game-Key Card. This decision has drawn dissatisfaction from many users, who are still waiting for final confirmations. While fans have criticized the use of game-key cards, publishers argue that the format helps reduce costs significantly while still maintaining the marketability of the retail version
