Ekos Volume 2, the second graphic novel in a brand new comic and entertainment universe inspired by the art and creations of legends Michael Turner & Geoff Johns and produced by Marvel Studios Founder David Maisel & Aspen Comics, is live now on Kickstarter! Anyone who backs the project in the first 72 hours of launch will receive limited bonus items including a special art print and a collector’s pin.
“With the success of Ekos Volume 1 and the incredible response to our (potential) Ekos film teaser at San Diego Comic-Con this year, I’m thrilled to share the next volume of this new entertainment universe and its amazing characters, including Grell, with the world,” said Marvel Studios and Mythos Studios Founder David Maisel.
Ekos Volume 2 is the second of three planned volumes in the series and follows Volume 1’s successful Kickstarter campaign last Fall, which passed its goal almost immediately upon launch. Since then, development for the first Ekos film has been underway, with a rough teaser for a potential film shown to attendees at SDCC 2025. Ekos Volume 1 is also available for sale as an add-on through the Volume 2 Kickstarter.
Ekos Volume 2 continues the story of a new superstar in Grell, who in Volume 1 embarked on a journey to discover the world of Ekos. Grell encountered many of Michael Turner’s beloved characters, including fan-favorites Aspen (Fathom) and Grace (Soulfire), and joined forces with them on a shared mission. Remarkably, Ekos is the first time Turner’s characters have all come together in the same universe, and now Volume 2 continues their journey as they deal with turmoil within their realms and climactic interactions with the humans!
Ekos Volume 2 is available as either an oversized, hardcover graphic novel with a Kickstarter exclusive dust jacket, or in single issue format (Ekos Volume 2 #1–4), with plentiful variant cover options and bundles among the Kickstarter tiers. Ekos Volume 2 features the returning creative team of Aspen Comics all-stars including colorist Peter Steigerwald, writer J.T. Krul, artist Alex Konat, inker Mark Roslan, and letterer Josh Reed. Special covers will be available from superstar cover artists from across the industry, including David Nakayama, Kendrick Lim, David Mack, Alexander Lozano, Tyler Kirkham, and more.
All the tier details are now live on Kickstarter, with tier prices ranging from $50 to $2,895 for the most exclusive rewards. Most tiers in the campaign include all of the rewards of the preceding tiers, with two categories of rarity:
- Kickstarter Limited: Available to anyone who wishes to back the project on Kickstarter, and will not be re-printed anywhere else.
- Tier Limited: Rewards available only at the noted tiers and beyond, and not available as à-la-carte add-ons.
