During the 25th anniversary video of Dynasty Warriors, Koei Tecmo announced that they will be doing DLC for Dynasty Warriors: Origins and a remaster of an older Dynasty Warriors title. I was hoping it would be Dynasty Warriors 5, but we got it revealed during PlayStation’s State of Play that it will be Dynasty Warriors 3.
Interesting to see, but it isn’t just an upscaled version of Dynasty Warriors 3; the models have a lot more polish and even some differences in the models. The game also looks to have a lot more enemy soldiers on the screen, reminiscent of the way soldiers were handled in Dynasty Warriors: Origins. I do love that the models are still centered around the early designs of Dynasty Warriors 3. I wonder if they will use the old audio voice acting or if they will get new voices for the characters. That wasn’t confirmed, as there was only Japanese voice acting over the trailer’s clips. It was from the original Dynasty Warriors 3 voice acting.
I spent a lot of my childhood playing the original Dynasty Warriors 3. I even wrote an article about playing Dynasty Warriors through the ages. I really hope we get to see more information surrounding this remastered version. It is confirmed that Dynasty Warriors 3 and Dynasty Warriors 3 Xtreme Legends will be included in the remastered content.
Dynasty Warriors 3 Complete Edition Remastered will release on March 19th, 2026. It is currently only announced for PlayStation 5. (UPDATE: It has been revealed that it will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam.)
