Nintendo Confirms Drag X Drive Release Date for Switch 2

By Todd BlackJune 24, 2025
Drag X Drive

While I was surprised by some of the big announcements for the Nintendo Switch 2 during the April 2nd Direct, one of the more unique entries in that presentation was Drag X Drive. The reason for that was that the game is a sports title that has you playing as someone in a wheelchair.

You’ll work with two other players to score baskets, and to add to the uniqueness, you need to “push yourself forward” via the Joy-Cons themselves in mouse mode. All in all, it was a very “Nintendo-style” way of doing things. Not much has been revealed about the game since the Direct…until the Nintendo Today app decided to drop its release date:

That release date is important, as it’s less than a month after the arrival of Donkey Kong Bananza. Whether Nintendo “double books” the month to drop another big-name game during it is up in the air, but it’s clear they want people to know when this title will drop. Hopefully, not unlike DK’s new title, Nintendo puts out some demos in stores so that players can understand more of how this game feels as they play it. Anything it takes to make the game a hit, right?
