Donkey Kong Bananza Getting Special Nintendo Direct This Week!

We'll take it!
By Todd BlackJune 16, 2025
Donkey Kong Bananza, Nintendo Direct

Many Nintendo fans have been wondering when the company would drop the Nintendo Direct showcase to highlight the games that will arrive soon on its brand-new console. The Nintendo Switch 2 is a MASSIVE hit, and now, gamers just want more games to play on it. A simple, but fair, request to have. The good news is that one is coming this Wednesday! The twist is that it’ll be only about Donkey Kong Bananza. The presentation will be about 15 minutes long and will help break down the game in greater detail.

That’s good because we only had one trailer for Donkey Kong Bananza so far, and the Nintendo Treehouse Live videos, and they were great, but we still have some questions about the game as a whole. We don’t know how DK ends up in this new land. We don’t know if any of the Kongs outside of Kranky will show up, and there’s bound to be some gameplay twists we haven’t seen yet.

Tune in at 6 a.m. PT on June 18 for a livestreamed #DonkeyKongBananza Direct presentation, featuring roughly 15 minutes of information about the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 game. #NintendoDirect

The “focused Nintendo Direct” isn’t a new thing, as Nintendo did one in April for Mario Kart World (read our review of the game!) This one will likely be just as informative, and that’ll give gamers an even better reason to enjoy the title when it drops on July 17th.
