We’re officially one month away from the arrival of the Nintendo Switch 2, and that means a lot of things to many people. Just as important as the official launch day, though, is what comes after. Even if the Switch 2 has a big launch, as we predicted it would on the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast over the last few weeks, it’s important to keep things rolling with big launches and releases. To that end, the big 1st-party game to come after launch is Donkey Kong Bananza in July. The title aims to be a big upgrade over everything prior in the franchise, and some new screenshots highlight that.
The screenshots come via the Nintendo Today app, and they focus on the landscapes that Donkey Kong will get to explore in the game. As you can see below, they are vibrant, big, full of primates and primate imagery!

Clearly, this “underground world” will be unlike anything DK has been to before, and that’s kind of the point. Donkey Kong Bananza doesn’t just feature new environments; it features all-new styles and mechanics, including fully destructible environments that DK can pummel with his mighty hands.
More than likely, Nintendo will drop another trailer for the game before its arrival on July 17th on the Nintendo Switch 2.
