Do Patents Point To Ring Fit Adventure Getting A Sequel?

If Nintendo thinks it can do more with it, why not?
By Todd BlackJune 4, 2025
Ring Fit Adventure

The Nintendo Switch had a lot of hit games. Just as important, it had games that you didn’t expect to be a success, and yet they blew other games out of the water. One such title was Ring Fit Adventure. This was the game where you hooked up your Joy-Cons to a special peripheral and then moved around in various exercises to get a character to go through a fantasy world and fight enemies. Or, you could do basic workout routines. The game was a hit before and during the global pandemic, and now, some new patents make people think that the game could get a sequel for the Nintendo Switch 2.

Here are the patents in question; there’s a whole thread about the patents and how they tease a new game, so you might want to check it out if you have the time.

Evidence is mounting that Nintendo is developing a Ring Fit Adventure successor, and it might come sooner than you think. A thread:

It does make sense, aside from sales success, that Nintendo would want to try to make a second Ring Fit Adventure game. First, the Switch 2 has a set of upgraded Joy-Cons. Second, because of the console’s upgrades over the OG Switch, it can make the title more immersive, while also having loads more content for fans to enjoy!

Will it happen? We’ll have to wait and see.
