It’s always a tricky thing to hear a rumor about a game coming to a console or PC and think it’s real without hearing an official announcement from the developer or publisher in question. So, when I first heard that Dispatch, the new chapter-style superhero game that has wowed a lot of people recently, was possibly coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, I was both excited and curious. As I looked for where this statement came from, I found myself in the Australian Nintendo eShop. They have the game listed for both Switch and Switch 2, and state it’ll drop next January.
Specifically, it’ll allegedly drop on January 29th, and if you get it right now, you’ll get it for 10% off. Given that this is the official eShop for the country, and they have the full-on page up, it does seem legit. Yet, as of right now, neither Nintendo nor the developer of Dispatch has made this official.
Should this happen, though, it’d be a big deal. The game has done well in the eyes of both critics and fans (despite a rather bland introduction at The Game Awards last year), and has gotten good sales. Given the chapter structure, you could argue that the Nintendo Switch 2 is the perfect place to enjoy it.
UPDATE: Not long after I published this piece, AdHoc Studio has confirmed that the game will drop on January 28th for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Here’s the confirmation post:

For those who don’t know, the game is about a world full of superheroes, and one of them, Robert Robertson, has to become a dispatcher for supervillains turned into heroes so that he can get his mecha suit repaired. You’ll weave your way through the narrative and do unique gameplay sections to shake things up. No announcement of a Season 2 has been made, but many are hopeful it’ll happen.
