As a proud backer of the Death Battle Kickstarter last year, I was very eager for my rewards that I pledged to, but one of those rewards went beyond getting some fun swag. Instead, backers of a certain tier level were able to vote on a fight that would happen in 2025, one that would be a “true rematch” that fans had been asking for. In overwhelming fashion, the fight that was picked to happen was Master Chief Vs Doom Slayer. This fight was an “evolution” of the original fight that featured Doomguy long before Bethesda rebooted the series. Thus, there was PLENTY of new weapons and lore to take into account.
Sure enough, the fight, animated by DevilArtemis, delivers on what the original sprite fight couldn’t. We not only got to see this in 3D, but also saw the characters interact in fun ways, including killing demons in Hell together! Fun times.
