One of the bigger surprises in the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct was that the Expansion Pack for NSO would get GameCube titles! Just as important, they spelled out which ones would be getting the tap first and then which ones would be coming later on after launch. One of the titles named in the trailer was The Legend of Zelda The Wind Waker, which is an all-time classic. However, some people have been asking for the HD version of the game to come to the Switch and now the Switch 2.
One of those people includes Tim Gettys of Kinda Funny Games, who noted on their show that he asked about the HD version and got an interesting answer:
“I did ask if having The Wind Waker on NSO precludes it from the Switch 2 getting the actual Wii U port at some point, and he was very quick to say ‘no, all options are on the table’. Obviously, nothing is confirmed one way or another.”
So, if you prefer the upgraded version to the GameCube version, you may only need to wait a little bit longer to get it! You never know…
