Dotemu and Tribute Games have unveiled two new playable fighters for their upcoming tag-team beat ’em up, MARVEL Cosmic Invasion, Cosmic Ghost Rider and Black Panther.
The Cosmic Ghost Rider is deadly incarnation of the Punisher reborn through a pact after Thanos destroyed Earth, enters the fight wielding devastating chains, firearms, and his roaring Hell Cycle. He tears across the cosmos leaving devastation in his wake, and his larger-than-life presence will be voiced by celebrated actor Brian Bloom, who is also voicing Captain America, and Silver Surfer.
Joining him is Black Panther, the proud king of Wakanda who dashes into battle wearing his vibranium suit and armed with sonic daggers. His combination of martial arts mastery and royal strength makes him a formidable addition to the roster. James Mathis III reprises his role as the Black Panther following his performances in Marvel Rivals and the Avengers Assemble animated series.

MARVEL Cosmic Invasion pits players against Annihilus and his relentless Annihilation Wave in a galaxy-spanning conflict. Heroes and villains must join forces to halt the supervillain’s conquest, with battles stretching from the streets of New York City to the depths of the Negative Zone. Players can build their own two-character tag teams with the innovative Cosmic Swap system, switching on the fly to chain unique abilities and special attacks. The game also rewards experimentation, as different team combinations unlock new ways to devastate enemies while collecting power-ups and progressing through Marvel’s most iconic locations.
With the addition of both characters, this brings the Marvel Cosmic Invasion roster to 15 playable characters;
- Cosmic Ghost Rider
- Black Panther
- Captain America
- Wolverine
- Spider-Manto
- Storm
- Phyla-Vell
- Venom
- Nova
- She-Hulk
- Rocket Raccoon,
- Beta Ray Bill
- Silver Surfer
With two more characters left to be revealed, mystery surrounding whoever it will be and is already sparking speculation as fans wonder which heroes or villains will round out this stellar lineup.
We also had the chance to go hands-on with MARVEL Cosmic Invasion, and from what we’ve played so far, it’s already shaping up to be a fantastic beat ’em up, though we didn’t get the opinion of trying the new characters. The combat feels responsive, the tag-team mechanics open the door to clever strategies, and the hand-drawn art captures the energy of Marvel’s classic comic eras in a way that immediately grabs you.
The arcade-style brawler celebrates the golden eras of Marvel storytelling with hand-drawn animation, fast-paced combat, and an ever-growing roster of heroes and villains. The game launches later this year on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC (Steam).
