Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has officially surpassed 5 million copies sold worldwide, marking a huge milestone for Montpellier-based studio Sandfall Interactive and publisher Kepler Interactive. The announcement comes just six months after launch, confirming the game’s place as one of 2025’s breakout hits in narrative-driven RPGs.
For those keeping score, back during May 2025, it was reported that the smash-hit RPG has surpassed 2 million copies sold worldwide. So, hitting an additional 3 million more since then is fantastic to see for the RPG that has been making developers rethink how an RPG is done.
Beyond the impressive sales, the game’s hauntingly beautiful soundtrack by Lorien Testard has become a global phenomenon, surpassing 333 million streams across platforms. It spent over 10 weeks atop the Billboard Classical and Classical Crossover charts, while also hitting No. 1 on iTunes in nine different countries — including France, where the studio is based.
A “Thank You” Update Is On The Way
In celebration of this success, Sandfall Interactive has announced that a major free update is currently in development for all platforms. This update aims to thank fans for their continued support and passion for the world of Clair Obscur.
The upcoming update will be released for free on all platforms, though no launch window has been confirmed. Players are encouraged to follow the game’s official website and social channels for updates.
According to the developer, the upcoming content drop will include:

- Plus, several undisclosed surprises that will be revealed closer to launch.
