Capcom Talks Strategy In Bringing Games To Nintendo Switch 2

It's about timing, planning, and efficiency.

There are many publishers in the gaming space who can legitimately say they’re doing well right now, and Capcom is one of them. Sure, the publisher isn’t flawless, but it has had great sales success recently, and it has some anticipated titles coming up in 2026 that might boost their credibility further. Then, there’s how they handle game releases, where they partake in the “multi-platform strategy” approach, which was shown when the Nintendo Switch 2 came out.  The company dropped two titles on the system at launch, and has already promised more games are coming to it, like Resident Evil Requiem and Monster Hunter Stories 3.

In a special briefing about its goals and how it’s been working to get things done, the publisher highlighted that going to the Nintendo Switch 2 with its titles was all part of its multi-platform strategy, and that makes sense on multiple levels. First, the company and Nintendo have had a good relationship for decades. Second, the Switch 2 is the hottest system on the market right now, and as a result, having games on it would help ensure good sales for its games.

However, going the multiplatform route has its difficulties, including working on multiple systems at once. Luckily for them, another element of the PDF they provided noted that they’ve undergone a focus of “creating high quality content efficiently,” and that is how they were able to bring certain games to the Switch 2, and have upcoming titles ready for launch simultaneously across all platforms.

If that is the case, then perhaps we’ll see more games from them on the Switch 2 in the near future.
