Capcom Cup 12 Finals Will Be A Pay-Per-View Affair

By Kevin KellyOctober 4, 2025
Capcom cup 12

Similar to the Street Fighter League, the Capcom Cup 12 event will be $26.75 USD to watch the finals, Capcom announced last week. This means that your favorite FGC influencers will not be able to host watch parties on Twitch and similar platforms. The finals will happen on March 14th, and the Street Fighter League World Championship on March 15th. March 21st will be the date to watch the Capcom Cup 12 for free as a replay. March 22nd will also be a date to get the Street Fighter League championships. This is nearly the price of the live seats at the events.

The countdown begins. Tickets for #CAPCOMCUP12 drop soon on Oct. 10!

Starting this season, CAPCOM CUP 12 Finals (Mar.14) and SFL: World Championship (Mar. 15) will stream live via Pay-per-view. Free replays will drop Mar. 21 (CC12) & Mar. 22 (SFL:WC). *Pay-per-view tickets will… pic.twitter.com/CrPI1EzXSq

The qualifiers’ action will remain on YouTube and Twitch as expected. There is speculation as to why this is happening. However, some FGC influencers were met with replies, including Brian_F, who pointed out the surprise that the dev team had about the decision.

Doesn't it seem strange that the esports division and dev team seem so entirely disconnected? Perhaps different monetization strategies could have resulted with collaboration, rather than just charging such a high price for streaming Capcom Cup

Taka Nakayama of Capcom and Street Fighter responded, making it seem as though there is division within the walls of the company. They were just as surprised as everyone else about the announcement.

It may sound strange, but it's true. Revenue targets and assigned tasks differ fundamentally by department. Even the development team was surprised by this announcement(At least Matsumoto and I were shocked at the venue)That said, since this matter occurred within the same…

“It may sound strange, but it’s true. Revenue targets and assigned tasks differ fundamentally by department. Even the development team was surprised by this announcement(At least Matsumoto and I were shocked at the venue)That said, since this matter occurred within the same company, we are currently discussing it. We apologize for any concern this may have caused.” — Taka Nakayama, Capcom

More information will be available on the Capcom Esports site about the $1.3M pot finals.
