Bungie’s Marathon Gets An Official Release Date

After an initial leak via the Xbox store, developer Bungie has now officially revealed the release date for Marathon. The upcoming survival extraction shooter from the creators of Destiny and Halo, has dealt with its share of challenges in development but today we finally received confirmation of the release date, via a new trailer for the game.

Which you can take a look at below:

That’s right, Marathon is releasing on March 5th, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Bungie has also previously confirmed full cross-play and cross-progression for Marathon but at the moment, I have not been able to verify whether these features will be available at launch. So, you might want to wait for absolute confirmation on that before deciding which hardware to play the game on.

Of course, you may want to pre-order the Collector’s Edition that can be seen at the end of the trailer. Personally, it’s not one that catches my eye, I’ll be sticking with a non-collector’s variant for this one. However, I know us collectors all have different tastes.

Here is what bungie says about the Marathon Collector’s Edition.

Designed in partnership with PureArts, the Marathon Collector’s Edition features a premium unboxing experience inspired by Sekiguchi Genetics’ shell-weaving process. Unbox to reveal a 1/6-scale Thief Runner Shell statue, collectible miniature WEAVEworm, embroidered patch, postcards, digital rewards, and more.

Bungie Marathon Collectors Edition

If you want to pre-order the Collector’s Edition at the moment it only seems to be available via Bungie directly. I’d be shocked if it didn’t come to local retailers at some point, but I guess you never know.

So, if you don’t want to miss out, Marathon Collector’s Edition is now available for purchase on the Bungie Store. Additionally, if you aren’t fussed about the Collector’s Edition, Marathon is available for pre-order on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Jordan has been playing games since the age of six. This ignited a passion which initially led him towards game development before trying his hand in the realm of games media, starting in 2022. It turns out he's quite good at it, even if he doesn't always believe in himself. Now, just a few short years later, not only is Jordan a valued member of our staff here at The Outerhaven, but he also co-owns and helps to run Analog Stick Gaming.
