As I’ve been noting in recent articles, there are many 3rd party developers and publishers who are bringing their titles to Nintendo Switch 2, or are promising to do so in the future. One team that couldn’t wait to do such a thing was the crew at Bloober Team. You might know them from the Silent Hill 2 remake, Cronos: The New Dawn, and other horror games they’ve helped on. They announced a while back that “Project M” would be a Switch 2 exclusive, but have been mum about it ever since.
During a chat with Nintendo Insider, Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno talked about how Nintendo was helping them get their games onto their platforms, and had to basically restrain himself from talking more about their upcoming game:
“You have no idea how hard it is for me not to reveal what Project M truly is—but for now, it’s still too early to talk about it. We’re confident that we’ll be able to share the first details very soon.
What I can say is this: fans of Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Limbo, and Eternal Darkness will immediately feel at home. That said, Project M introduces a bold twist—one that no horror game has ever explored before. This is a vision that could only exist on Nintendo hardware.”
That’s a bold claim to make, wouldn’t you say? That goes double when you consider that while Nintendo has had horror titles on its systems in the past, including the Switch, it’s not necessarily its “focus.” That’s not to say it won’t be amazing, or that it won’t sell well. We just simply need more information, and hopefully, we’ll get that soon.
Piotr furthermore said that:
“Without the support of the incredible people at Nintendo, this game would never have had a chance to exist. Their trust guided and empowered us at every step of the journey.”
Again, high praise! Let’s see where that trust leads, shall we?
