Bloober Team Shares New Story Details for Cronos: The New Dawn

If I haven’t made it clear already, I’m really looking forward to Bloober Team’s upcoming third-person horror title, Cronos: The New Dawn. Everything I’ve seen so far not only reminds me of Dead Space, Resident Evil, and Silent Hill, but it also gives me hope that this could be the next big game to truly own this genre. My eyes are firmly glued to this one. So, imagine my surprise when Bloober Team dropped another video for the game, this time giving us a deeper look at the story.

In the video, Cronos: The New Dawn Lead Writer Grzegorz Like and Producer Klaudia Sewera break down the themes that run through the game while answering fan questions. Sadly, I didn’t even know they were taking questions, because I’ve got a whole list of my own. Still, it’s a great watch—one that teases just enough to hook newcomers and gives those of us already on board even more reason to count down the days until release.

You can check it out below.

In Cronos: The New Dawn, you play as the Traveler, heading back to 1980s Poland to save survivors from a disaster known as the Change. The combat mixes tense gunplay and melee with a nasty twist: if you don’t burn enemy corpses, surviving creatures can fuse with them to create even deadlier threats.

Toss in time-travel decisions that shape the story, a grim Eastern European setting, and an atmosphere blending Dead Space’s tension, Resident Evil’s pacing, and Silent Hill’s psychological edge, and you’ve got one of the most promising horror games in years. With no new Dead Space on the horizon, Cronos might just be the game to fill that void while offering something fresh.

Cronos: The New Dawn launches September 5, 2025, on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, macOS, and Nintendo Switch 2.
