Battlefield 2042 Launches Road to Battlefield 6 Event

By Keith MitchellAugust 18, 2025
EA Road to Battlefield 6

Now that the Battlefield 6 beta has wrapped up and many of you are dealing with withdrawals, EA has some news that might pull you back into Battlefield 2042.

Beginning August 18 and running through October 7, the new Road to Battlefield 6 event brings a wave of content for players. This includes a free pass that celebrates the franchise’s legacy, new hardware to unlock, a reimagining of the fan favorite Iwo Jima map, and more.

On top of that, the event will feature exclusive cross-rewards. Players can earn more than 20 rewards that will carry over into Battlefield 6 at launch, all unlocked simply by playing Battlefield 2042 and progressing through the free pass.

This free pass includes over 50 rewards tied to Battlefield 2042 and the franchise’s history. In addition, more than 20 rewards will unlock and be ready for players when Battlefield 6 officially launches. This includes the following;

  • KFS2000 – unlockable through the free pass
  • LYNX Sniper Rifle – available as an open beta reward for players who participated
  • A10 Warthog and SU-25TM Frogfoot – classic attack jets returning from the vault

This Road to Battlefield 6 event feels like EA’s way of bridging the gap between the end of the Battlefield 6 beta and the game’s official release. It also gives Battlefield 2042 players a reason to jump back in, with a mix of legacy content and exclusive future rewards.

For fans who have stuck with Battlefield 2042, Battlefield 6 represents a fresh start and a chance to return to the series’ core identity. Many players felt that 2042 experimented a bit too much and lost some of what made Battlefield special. With DICE promising larger battles, iconic maps, and more traditional sandbox gameplay, longtime fans see Battlefield 6 as the true next step forward, one that builds on the lessons learned from 2042 while bringing back the scale and chaos the franchise is known for.

Battlefield 6 releases worldwide on October 21, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
