Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game released a new trailer for the game as well as a solid release date at the Evo Awards last night. The title is expected to still keep the summer release date yet also has revealed the pricing model. The game will be using Rollback Netcode and crossplay for online play, and also have a separate arcade and story mode. The game is set for a July 2, 2026, for all platforms.
12 characters will be available at launch. Zaheer, Fire Lord Ozai, Avatar Kyoshi, are also coming. It seems as though Avatar States Korra and Aang will be separate characters, too. The trailer shows off Sokka and Azula footage. More footage will expected in the next few months similar to that of what was already shown with Toph recently.
As to who will be next for the breakdown is yet to be seen. A whopping 900+ hand-drawn frames per character shows a lot of care put into the title. Feels as though the team is pulling The King of Fighters XIII effort with this game because of that. Fire Lord Ozai could be considered to be a final boss of sorts, but this has yet to be revealed.
Pre-order bonuses including a new Samurai skin for Appa, Exclusive Character Colors, and Voting Privileges for Year 1 Pass Characters. This is definitely a first for a fighting game to have direct influence over DLC characters.
Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game drops July 2nd on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch & Steam.
