Arc System Works Reveals Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls for PS5 and PC

By Keith MitchellJune 4, 2025

Arc System Works, the powerhouse behind acclaimed fighters like Guilty Gear Strive, BlazBlue, and Dragon Ball FighterZ, is back with a bold new project. During today’s PlayStation State of Play, the studio pulled back the curtain on its next major title — Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, a brand-new fighting game set in the Marvel universe.

Check out the trailer below.

While the DNA clearly channels the energy of Capcom’s legendary Marvel vs. Capcom series, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is raising the stakes. Instead of sticking with the traditional 2v2 or 3v3 formats, this upcoming brawler is going full throttle with chaotic 4v4 team battles. Yes, that’s eight fighters clashing in what looks like the most intense crossover arena yet, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

So far, we’ve seen iconic Marvel characters confirmed for the roster, including Iron Man, Captain America, Star-Lord, Storm (X-Men), Doctor Doom, Ghost Rider, Ms. Marvel, and Spider-Man. Each appears to bring their own distinct abilities and flair to the fight, hinting at deep team mechanics and synergy options.

The teaser trailer gave a quick look at the action, filled with explosive combos, cinematic supers, and the trademark anime-style presentation Arc System Works is known for.

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is set to launch in 2026 for PlayStation and PC. Due to Sony PlayStation publishing the game, you won’t see this on Nintendo Switch or Xbox.

This story is still developing. Stay tuned for more updates.
