Animation Studio Satelight Celebrates 30th Anniversary with Streaming Launch of Nobunaga the Fool Songs

Animation studio Satelight, known for popular series such as Macross Frontier and Genesis of Aquarion, will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2025. To mark the occasion, streaming of character songs, the original soundtrack, and the Season 2 ending theme from the TV anime Nobunaga the Fool began on May 23, 2025.

Nobunaga the Fool is an original anime created by Shoji Kawamori—who also serves as special advisor at Satelight Inc.—and features his work as series composer and chief director. The show drew attention as a grand sci-fi Sengoku epic where legendary figures from East and West battle using armor-like mobile weapons called “Ikusa Yoroi.” The project also attracted attention for its innovative “multidimensional” approach, linking the anime with stage productions. The series continues to have a loyal fanbase to this day.

The character song collection includes six volumes in total, starting with Vol. 1 Oda Nobunaga (CV: Mamoru Miyano) and Vol. 2 Toyotomi Hideyoshi (CV: Yuki Kaji). These must-listen tracks bring to life powerful characters surviving in a war-torn world.

The original soundtrack is composed by Masaru Yokoyama, known for his work on Mashle and Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans. The Season 2 ending theme, “Ran,” performed by ASUKA, features a powerful yet delicate vocal performance that captures the show’s emotional depth and highlights its characters’ inner struggles.

Together with the already-released opening theme “FOOL THE WORLD” by Minori Chihara, ending theme “AXIS” by STEREO DIVE FOUNDATION, and Season 2 opening theme “Breakthrough” by JAM Project, fans can now enjoy the full lineup of Nobunaga the Fool’s memorable music on streaming services.
