Alcatel A30, Moto G5 join Amazon Prime unlocked phone line up

By Clinton Bowman-ChristieMarch 26, 2017

If you’re an Amazon Prime user and you’re looking for a new phone, Amazon unveiled the two newest phones in their Prime Exclusive lineup on Friday.

Powered by Android 7.0 Nougat, the Motorola G5 Plus and the Alcatel A30 have joined the list of Amazon Prime Exclusive phones, which currently include BLU’s R1HD and the Moto G4 series of devices.

The Moto G5 Plus boasts a “fingerprint reader, 5.2” 1080p Full HD display, fast 2.0 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor, and 4G LTE speeds,” along with a “12 MP rear-facing camera featuring dual autofocus pixel technology.” The phone is available in both 2GB RAM/32GB storage and 4GB RAM/64GB storage models, and are priced starting at US$185 for Amazon Prime users. In addition, the phone is powered by TurboPower charging capability, adding “up to 6 hours of usage in 15 minutes.”

The Alcatel A30 has a “metallic silver frame with a textured back, Android 7.0 Nougat with Google Mobile Services, 5” 720p HD display, directional audio with front-facing speakers, Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor, and 4G LTE speeds.” The A30 is available with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage, with up to 32GB of expandable storage via MicroSD and backed by Alcatel’s “two-year device protection warranty.” The A30 starts at US$60 for Amazon Prime users.

As is the case with Amazon’s Prime Exclusive series, they come with Amazon’s lockscreen offers and ads, as well as support for the major GSM networks, T-Mobile and AT&T. The Alcatel A30 comes in a CDMA variant for Verizon.
