Alan Wake 2 PC system requirements revealed: what you need to know

By Keith MitchellOctober 20, 2023
Alan Wake 2 - Alan Wake II Header

Remedy Entertainment’s follow-up to Alan Wake, originally released on the Xbox 360, Alan Wake II, will be released in a week. And while the title is heading to the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, it is also making its way to the PC. As such, Remedy has revealed the Alan Wake II PC system requirements so that you can see if your PC is up to the task.

Looking at the specs, they don’t look like most PCs that have been built and/or upgraded over these recent 4-5 years will be able to run the game with no issues. There are also several tiers of Ray Tracing; however, these will require a bit more GPU power, and if you’re rocking an RTX 4070, RTX 4080, or RTX 4090, then you’ll be fine. AMD GPU owners, on the other hand, look to be locked out of utilizing Ray Tracing, with AMD’s RX 7900 XTX cards not even mentioned. Menting that the AMD card just might not be able to provide the performance that Remedy is looking for.

Alan Wake 2 will also include Nvidia’s DLSS 3.5 and will be one of the first games to do so. Though, I haven’t heard or seen any mention of AMD’s FSR 3 being implemented. You may also notice that DLSS and FSR are required, and that’s due to Alan Wake II being a GPU-heavy game. You may recall that several other developers also required these over the past few months, and people were upset over that. I wonder how people will take the news that Alan Wake II will require upscaling for optimal visuals.

Take a look at the Alan Wake II PC system requirements below.
