AEW Collision Recap – 9/6/2025

By Jen RozenSeptember 7, 2025
AEW Collision Recap

It’s Saturday, and you know what that means! AEW Collision is back live this week at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia! So, let’s get right into tonight’s AEW Collision Recap!

We started off with Moxley taking his sweet time walking into the ring to face Danny Garcia. While coming up short the last three times against Mox, Danny looked determined as ever, as he opted to return to his ‘Red Death’ gear. Danny started off attacking his foe’s knee. Mox tried going for a cross-arm breaker, but DG countered with a spiked pile driver onto the apron. After a hard-fought match, Mox won with a roll-through counter. Schiavone caught up with a dejected Danny to see what he had to say. DG mentioned he had nothing to show after losing for the past 5 years. As he puts it, “Sometimes good isn’t good enough”.

I feel for the guy, I really do. I wonder if this is the last straw before he snaps…

Backstage, we heard from Big Bill and Bryan Keith. Bill called out Philly for some past woes, and made it known that New York is where the real tough guys come from. He even called out fellow New Yorker, Eddie Kingston! Ahh, I can’t wait for the King of the Bums to come back! The only question is WHEN will our “Mad King” return!

Tag Team action was next with FTR vs Adam Priest and his surprise partner Tommy Billington. After hearing about his shoulder injury back in February, I’m really glad to see Tommy back in the ring. He comes from a famous pro wrestling background.

While FTR dominated in size, swagger, and experience, Priest and Billington held their own with reckless abandon. Tommy executed a beautiful top rope gut wrench suplex on Dax. And what is this? A double flying headbutt? Wow! FTR regained momentum with stiff lariats followed by The Power and The Glory, pinning Priest. But hey, FTR put these two over really good, and that could lead to some things either in AEW or Ring of Honor.

After the match, we got a vignette from The Outrunners. They were lost in the woods, but encounter none other than the flamboyant peacock himself, Dalton Castle! OMG, I’m so hyped! BOYS!!!! Let’s go break some hearts!

Gosh, AEW has been on a roll lately with all of these returns. Ever since AEW All In, we’ve seen Jamie Hayter, Wardlow, Riho, Tommy Billington, and now Dalton Castle! And that’s not even including Eddie Kingston! What a timeline we are living in!

Backstage, Mox wonders what he has that makes guys like Danny and Darby want a piece of him. He wants these outcasts to fight alongside him, but he sees Darby as being too stubborn for his own good. So, he made it official:

Mox vs Darby in a coffin match at ALL OUT! I’m so hyped!

The third match was the eight-woman All-Star Match between The Triangle of Madness and Megan Bayne vs Kris Statlander, Harley Cameron, Mina Shirakawa, and Toni Storm. Everyone was banned from ringside, so it was going to be interesting to see what happened. As soon as I mention that…a conniving Wheeler Yuta shows up to pester Stat-Daddy!!! BE GONE, YUTA!!!

The crowd was really pulling for babyfaces to win. Stat-Daddy made it come true by face-planting Julia Hart for the win. This was a fun match that displayed how deep and talented the women’s roster has become.

After the match, Triangle of Madness continued the attack. Things didn’t go their way, though, when Jamie Hayter appeared! She fended off all 3 women and extended a helping hand gesture to Toni. She refused it, citing their troubled past. But then, things got REALLY interesting! The Timeless One called out Stat, Hayter, and Thekla for a 4-way match at ALL OUT! Let’s tango! Plus, it’s been confirmed that next week, she’ll have a Philly Street Fight with Skye!!!!

Would you look at that? Ace Austin is back with a fiery vignette! I could see great matches coming from him with Speedball, Alex Zayne, and even joining Bang Bang Gang. Well, speaking of BBG, Lexi caught up with Austin Gunn and Juice Robinson to talk about their misfortunes. Juice got rid of the fan favorite Cardblade (oh no) and CardColten and intends to move on. They did a lot of card references, so the “Ace” might be up their sleeves soon as they go for gold once again.

Afterward, we heard from Mercedes Mone. She felt disrespected on Dynamite when Riho interrupted her, so she sought revenge by tagging with her mentor, Emi Sakura. So, next week, it’s going to be Mone and Sakura vs Winzaa and Riho. I’m so happy to see our Queen, Emi Sakura, back!

This is going to be a great showcase match!

Next, we heard from Don Callis, Josh Alexander, and the pink protostar, Kyle Fletcher. It’s good to hear Josh cut a promo on Hangman, and…

He gets a piece of Hangman this Wednesday on Dynamite!

Also, Kyle Fletcher want’s a AEW World Champion title shot at ALL OUT. Could we potentially see a double champion, Kyle Fletcher?! Oh, I’m here for that!

Backstage, Kyle O’ Reilly made a funny joke about cloning luchadors. OMG, did Roderick Strong just call Tomohiro Ishii, ‘Mr. Potato Head‘? Well, he does have a point. Roddy is still jealous of Kyle having other friends besides himself. But hey, all is great in Conglomeration land, right, Kyle?

Jerry Lynn took some time to give Anthony Bowens some cold, hard advice. Let’s see if Anthony takes them.

The main event of the night was between Mark Briscoe and Konosuke Takeshita. Cinnabon has the best-looking Blue Thunder Bombs. I’m starting to notice Mark using a sunset power bomb to set up for this froggy bow lately. I was starting to think that this felt like a Continental Classic-level match until Don Callis interrupted. And what’s this? MJF shows up and costs Mark the match. Wasn’t he busy getting hitched?

After the match, Max came into the ring to inflict more damage, but Takeshita stopped him?! What’s going on? I don’t think Takeshita likes MJF too much. Don was able to separate the two. Security came in for the assist, and MJF wants Mark to name the time, place, and stipulation for a match. Mark replies with ALL OUT but leaves him guessing on what stipulation he has in mind as the show ends. Could we get a Dog Collar Match between these two? That would certainly rock!

The AEW ALL OUT card is shaping up nicely:

  • C&C vs FTR (confirmed)
  • Ricobald/GOA vs The Hurt Syndicate (confirmed)
  • Mercedes Mone TBS Championship vs Riho (confirmed)
  • Max Caster Open Challenge (confirmed)
  • Toni Storm vs Thekla vs Statdaddy vs Jamie Hayter AEW Women’s Championship (confirmed)
  • Hangman Adam Page vs Kyle Fletcher, World Championship (possibility)
  • Moxley vs Darby Allin Coffin match (confirmed)
  • MJF vs Mark Briscoe (stipulation not confirmed)
  • Konosuke Takeshita vs Kazuchika Okada (possibility)
  • Hologram vs El Clon (possibility)

Next week on Dynamite so far:

  • Hangman vs Josh Alexander (Grudge Match)
  • Mercedes Mone/Emi Sakura vs Riho/Alex Windsor
  • Ricobald vs Shelton Benjamin
  • Timeless Toni Storm vs Skye Blue (Philly Street Fight)

This was a stacked card tonight, and a stacked AEW Collision Recap! Let me know your thoughts on all that happened tonight in the comments below!
