AEW Collision Recap – 12/6/25

Winter is Coming soon...and the C2 continues to heat up!
By Todd BlackDecember 6, 2025
AEW Collision Recap

While things may have been “out of order” last week, due to the holidays, All Elite Wrestling was back on its more official times this week, and that means it’s once again time for my AEW Collision Recap…on a Saturday!!!

Yep, that’s a stacked card! But would it deliver? We’ll find out by talking about the first match between…

Yep, we started the night with a Blue League match in the Continental Classic! It was two “members” of the Conglomeration going at it, and this one got tense from the start!

Don’t forget, Roddy was only a “Conglomerate” by association, due to his continued friendship with Kyle O’Reilly. And if you saw his passionate C2 interview last week, he made it clear that he was going to try and win the tournament “for himself,” and that was clearly at odds with what Orange Cassidy thought should happen in the match. He wanted to try and keep it “civil,” while Roddy wanted to win!

.@OrangeCassidy said he didn't want chops and he's going to keep @RoderickStrong from using them!

— All Elite Wrestling (@AEW) December 7, 2025

And the longer the match went, it became pretty clear to OC that he had to really fight back if he wanted to win, especially when Strong kept doing things like this…

.@OrangeCassidy just got laid out with a backbreaker on the barricade!

— All Elite Wrestling (@AEW) December 7, 2025

…and this…

We totally get why @OrangeCassidy wanted no chops now!

— All Elite Wrestling (@AEW) December 7, 2025

…yeah, and this…

.@RoderickStrong just caught @OrangeCassidy out of the air!

— All Elite Wrestling (@AEW) December 7, 2025

It was a great back-and-forth, and easily one of the things that made me SO HAPPY about tonight’s Collision overall was that the crowd was VERY MUCH into it. I watched ROH Final Battle last night, and despite it being an incredible night of wrestling, the crowd was straight-up dead for most of it. Thank you, Columbus, and Galaxy Con, for SHOWING UP tonight…it really mattered…especially when this happened:

.@ORANGECASSIDY IS ON THE BOARD!

— All Elite Wrestling (@AEW) December 7, 2025

Yep! OC won, and now Roderick is an even bigger whole. Could he go pointless in the tournament? How will Cassidy do against Mox, Takeshita, and Dorada? We’ll find out…

Now, on a sadder note, it was teased on Wednesday that Darby Allin wasn’t doing so hot after his all-time classic match against Kevin Night on the first night of the C2. You had to wonder if this was a work or not…and it wasn’t. They even had Darby do a promo about his “situation” and how it affects his war with the Death Riders…

.@DarbyAllin is out of the Continental Classic, and @boy_myth_legend takes his place, but Darby still has plenty to say about the Death Riders and his future!

— All Elite Wrestling (@AEW) December 7, 2025

Given all that Darby has done this year, it’s honestly a miracle his body hasn’t given out before this. Another irony is that Jack Perry was someone many wanted in the Continental Classic before the rosters were announced, so he will be a good replacement. But he’ll also have his work cut out for him, as he has a murderer’s row to face in the Gold League on a much shorter schedule.

Moving on, we had an appearance from FTR, who tried to “state their case” to the Bang Bang Gang about why they wouldn’t fight them…

"The only reason we haven't fought you is because we know there is NO WAY you could ever beat us!" – @DaxFTR

Watch #AEWCollision LIVE on TNT & HBO Max pic.twitter.com/tQ0UbqapKU

— All Elite Wrestling (@AEW) December 7, 2025

And the Bang Bang Gang retorted…

The Bang Bang Gang has laid out a challenge to FTR for an AEW World Tag Team Title Match!

While I personally felt the segment went a bit long, I do appreciate them going the story route for the inevitable title match. The match itself will be great, and this will add to it. Plus, Juice Robinson (much like his wife…) is a treasure on the mic.

Next week will be a two-part version of Winter is Coming, and one of the key matches for the Saturday edition in Wales is Mark Briscoe going up against Daniel Garcia, who had some “choice words” for his foe…

The message is loud and clear from the Death Riders, Daniel Garcia speaks on his upcoming match against Mark Briscoe for the TNT Title on December 13th in Cardiff, Wales!

— All Elite Wrestling (@AEW) December 7, 2025

I hope they get to go off in Wales, because we all know that international crowd will be hyped for some great WRESTLING. Speaking of which, how about the next C2 match?

I won’t lie, this was a match I was very hyped for, because Dorada is incredible, and Claudio just came off a great match with Moxley on Dynamite. You’d think that Claudio would have this locked up, and early indications pointed to that.

I loved how, unlike many others who go up against Mascara Dorada, Claudio really fought to keep this on the ground level. He worked Dorada’s body so he couldn’t try the high-flying moves, and intercepted the attempts that he was able to make.

.@ClaudioCSRO stopped @MascaraDoradMD with a vicious uppercut!

Ouch…and this likely hurt, too…

— All Elite Wrestling (@AEW) December 7, 2025

Double ouch.

…but…you can’t keep someone like Dorada down for long, and when he got rolling, even simple things like armdrags looked amazing:

Like pretty much every match in the Continental Classic so far, you really had to wonder how things would go, and in the end…we got a huge upset on Collision…

More than likely, this will play into Claudio in CMLL, as he is their world champion now, and we’ll get an even longer match between these two with the belt on the line. Heck, we might even see the rematch at World’s End for the title! The “bigger picture,” though is that with this loss…all THREE members of the Death Riders in the C2 have lost this week…and that might weigh on them more heavily than you’d think.

Looking ahead to Winter Is Coming Part 1, one of the key matches will be the women’s tag team title tournament final! I’m a little surprised they’re doing it on Dynamite and not Winter is Coming, but we did get this fun interaction with the finalists…

It’s the finals of the #AEW Women’s World Tag Team Title Tournament! 💥

Following that, we had the anticipated return of Swerve Strickland in the ring, and on the mic, and he made it clear that he’s coming back for his world title…and isn’t afraid to take it off the guy whom he got it from at Dynasty in 2024….

.@SwerveConfident has his eyes on @SamoaJoe's AEW World Championship!

But what about the tag match with Hangman? Oh yeah, he’s down for that…and someone else is down with stopping Swerve from getting the title…

The @Walking_Weapon Josh Alexander doesn't think @SwerveConfident should return and get handed an AEW World Title opportunity and challenges him to a match in Cardiff, NEXT WEEK!

Watch #AEWCollision LIVE on TNT & HBO Max pic.twitter.com/hEoL9MTpAA

— All Elite Wrestling (@AEW) December 7, 2025

Again, a little long in my estimation, but I’m not gonna argue with TWO Swerve Strickland matches next week! And we all know that Josh Alexander can go with some of the best around…so why not show what he’s got against Swerve?

Getting back to true in-ring action, we had Mercedes Mone vs. Leila Grey for the TBS Championship. If you didn’t watch Ring of Honor Final Battle last night, you missed out on THREE incredible women’s matches, including Mone going up against Red Velvet…and losing her ROH Women’s Television Title…which she’s TOTALLY taking in stride…

After heartbreak at #ROHFinalBattle, redemption could come fast for @MercedesVarnado, she defends the TBS Title tonight vs. @Miss_LeilaGrey!

Watch #AEWCollision LIVE on TNT & HBO Max pic.twitter.com/y7Vo0zGEUF

— All Elite Wrestling (@AEW) December 7, 2025

The match was honestly a lot shorter than I wanted it to be, especially after the incredible match Mone had last night with Velvet. It’s true that Leila might have been hurt in the match, and if that’s official, that really sucks, as she’s been improving a lot during her time in Ring of Honor.

Even with that, it did serve a purpose. Sure, Mercedes didn’t lose (again…) tonight, but she’s losing it in her head, and THAT is the story. We’re going to see her “Ultimo Mone” belt numbers go down…slowly…but sure…and she won’t be able to take it…which is why this happened to Christopher Daniels…

What the hell is @MercedesVarnado thinking?!

— All Elite Wrestling (@AEW) December 7, 2025

Prepare for a legendary crashout!!!!

…but before then…prepare for YET ANOTHER legendary Eddie Kingston promo. Seriously, this man is so beautiful with his words, and you can FEEL the passion he has for this business and AEW when he notes that he’s not just in this to finally become a world champion of a major brand (he was ROH champ, though, and that still means a lot!!!), but he’s doing it to show the younger generation that you should try and do it in the right way…

It’s more than a match, it’s about meaning.

— All Elite Wrestling (@AEW) December 7, 2025

…yeah, he’s SO GOOD AT THIS!!!

Next was a surprising matchup that only got announced earlier today. Fresh off beating Dalton Castle at Final Battle (which was a great match), Ricochet put the National Championship on the line for the first time on AEW programming against Ace Austin.

I know a LOT of people, including myself, who wanted to see more of Ace Austin after he debuted a few months back…against Ricochet, ironically enough. However, things were really packed back then, so it was difficult. Yet, in the last 48 hours, he’s had two incredible matches between ROH and AEW, and his future looks truly inevitable.

This was a fun “sprint” of a match that went JUST over ten minutes, and I’m glad, because Tony Khan needs to ensure that this belt is as respected as the others, regardless of the promotion it’s defended in.

Ricochet won, but Ace showed what he’s made of once again, and it’ll be fun seeing him rise through the ranks and further showcase his mettle:

SPIRIT GUN!

Finally, and easily the “Match of the Night,” we had…

Oh yeah. This was the one you all had to pay attention to, as these two are two of the best in the business right now, and they’re never afraid to show it. One thing I noted on social media right after the show was that every C2 match tonight had a “different feel” to it, and for this battle…it was about dealing with injuries.

.@Takesoup is targeting @JonMoxley's ankle!

— All Elite Wrestling (@AEW) December 7, 2025

Yep! They played the “injury game” with both of these men, and they each sold it well, highlighting not only their grit but halso ow they had to overcome these injuries to do damage back to their foe:

— All Elite Wrestling (@AEW) December 7, 2025

I don’t think anyone predicted this match to go like this, and I’m glad they not only went the distance, but used the overrun that TNT granted them (which was not a guarantee…this isn’t Dynamite, after all…) to make the match as long as possible. There were a lot of big spots in the match, including…

.@takesoup just through @JonMoxley INTO the announce table!

…and my personal favorite…

But in the end, the injuries took their toll, and “The Alpha” would not be denied!!!!

— All Elite Wrestling (@AEW) December 7, 2025

Yeah, that was a great match, and the first of the C2 to get a legit “Fight Forever” chant (even though they literally can’t by the rules of the Continental Classic…) and that means Takeshita is still undefeated going into next week!

It was another great AEW show, and the brand as a whole had another showcase week where they highlighted that THIS is where the best wrestle. Next week is Winter is Coming, and you can expect even more greatness to happen there!

What was YOUR favorite match of the night? Let me know in the comments of my AEW Collision Recap!

Winter Is Coming (Dynamite) Confirmed Matches:

  • Samoa Joe vs. Eddie Kingston
  • Babes of Wrath vs. Toni Storm & Mina Shirakawa
  • Swerve Strickland & Hangman Page vs. The Opps (Tornado Tag Match)
