Blessings be upon you, and happy Thanksgiving, AEW faithful! All Elite Wrestling decided to “shuffle things around” a bit and give us a special Thanksgiving Collision! How did it go? I’ll break it down in my AEW Collision Recap! The best part is easily that we get to start out with…
…the Continental Classic! This was what made AEW Dynamite so much fun last night, and THIS match between Pac and Speedball Mike Bailey was one I was absolutely looking forward to the moment I realized it could happen! Sure enough, it delivered, and then some.

Seriously, these two are some of the best wrestlers out there, and they absolutely “played for keeps.” Ironically, I felt they were holding back a little bit, which just means I NEED THEM to have a PPV match where they’ll show even more of what they can do, which I know is a lot. Seriously, this was just ONE SEQUENCE of their match tonight:

While it may have been a bit “predictable” that Pac would win, via the Brutalizer, this was a 15-minute spectacle that I’d love to see run back soon. And things are only going to get more intense as the C2 goes on!
After the match, Daniel Garcia cut a promo on the opponent he was to have soon enough:
Daniel Garcia demands the blood of @theDaddyMagic… and his eyes are locked on the TNT Championship!

Then, on the opposite side of that equation, Brody King showed support for Bandido after their loss at Full Gear, and ahead of Bandido’s big match at ROH Final Battle:
Despite their setback at #AEWFullGear, @Brodyxking shows support for his tag partner and #ROH World Champion @bandidowrestler heading into #ROHFinalBattle next Friday!

Next up was the big “grudge match” between Daddy Magic and Daniel Garcia.
This felt personal, and anyone who still maintains the “AEW doesn’t tell stories” crap can go watch this match and see the storytelling being laid bare. These two men were brutal to one another and didn’t hesitate to lay in big moves to help prove their points to one another. Plus, Mox was on commentary, which is honestly a real delight.

I was happy that AEW let these two have such a good back-and-forth, including this key moment:
Daniel Garcia and @TheDaddyMagic are unloading on each other!

Another key thing was that Garcia didn’t win with the Dragon Tamer. Instead, he did Mox’s chokehold, showing that he had a new mentor and didn’t need Daddy Magic’s support anymore.
After that, Mark Briscoe came down to the ring and made it clear that he was fine with taking on Garcia for the TNT title! These two have clashed for the title before, and it was good, so I’m eager to see the rematch.

Following that, The Demand, with the INAUGURAL National Champion Ricochet, shared what THEY were thankful for in AEW and beyond. Mainly…it was themselves:

And then…more talking segments! Don’t worry, this actually worked out in the show’s favor, as it got most of the talking done so that we could get back to the action! FTR came out to celebrate their victory at Full Gear, but found themselves facing an “old threat” of theirs:
Before Big Stoke can get too emotional, here comes the Bang Bang Gang!

I’m totally fine with FTR/BBG 3, as they work really well together, and it’ll once again hightlight the depth of AEW’s tag team division!
Following that was the latest “MXM Casting Call,” and for the trios match to come, Dalton Castle and the Outrunners answered the challenge!
No good pose goes unpunished!

A short match followed, with Dalton and the Outrunners winning…
SPIN TO WIN!

…and then they got attacked by The Demand! We know that at Final Battle, Ricochet will defend his title. Will he put it up against Dalton? I’m not sure that’s the best “first defense” for the belt, but we’ll see how it goes!
And since it is Thanksgiving, how about we have a special part of my AEW Collision Recap be about “family drama?” You know, like the drama in the Don Callis Family?
The Don Callis Family gather to give thanks, but things get tense fast as @rainmakerXokada and @Takesoup still can’t seem to stay on the same page!

Getting back to the big matches, next up we had Eddie Kingston vs. Shibata! This is actually a rematch from the very first WrestleDream, and that was a really good match!
And true to these two’s natures, things didn’t start in the ring:

We honestly got a hard-hitting match between the two. I would’ve had it go longer, but it was clear that the reason the match was shorter than you’d expect was that they wanted to let “Eddie Be Eddie” on the mic:

Joe vs. Eddie at Winter is Coming? I dig it. Gives us a big match for that night, leaves things open for Full Gear, and allows more room for action between The Opps and Swerve/Hangman! Give it your all, Eddie!
Next was the women’s match for the night, and it was a fun one! Thekla is REALLY good, and Tay Melo doesn’t get enough respect for all that she can do in the ring:

It got really physical, including some spots that I’m sure some didn’t see coming:

In the end, Thekla was able to get the win, and then, the Sisters of Sin came in to join in the beatdown. But it wasn’t Anna Jay who came to save Tay (which is odd…), but instead, we got Jamie Hayter and Kris Statlander!

Hmm…are we getting Stat vs. Thekla at Winter is Coming and then Jamie at World’s End? I’d be up for that!
Finally, we had the last Blue League match of the first week, as Konosuke Takeshita fought Roderick Strong! Don’t forget, Takeshita won the G1, which inspired the C2, and Roderick is absolutely built for events like this. So, naturally, the two came to play.
.@takesoup drops @RoderickStrong's head right onto the barricade!

The only real “fault” of this match was that it didn’t go longer. It was a little over 13 minutes by my count, but I would’ve had them go closer to twenty, just to show off what they could do.
In the end, Takeshita got the win, which puts him in a good position with the other winners in the Blue League:
