DMM today released two new promotional videos unveiling that global K-pop sensations aespa and RIIZE will perform the opening and ending theme songs for the upcoming anime adaptation of Tadatoshi Fujimaki’s hit manga, KILL BLUE, premiering in April. The opening theme, “ATTITUDE” by aespa, marks the group’s first anime theme song for a Weekly Shonen Jump (published by Shueisha) series and is now available for download and streaming, while the ending theme, “KILL SHOT” by RIIZE, marks the group’s first TV anime theme song.
The opening theme “ATTITUDE” pairs aespa’s edgy, high-impact sound with the series’ unique fusion of action and youth drama. The video opens with protagonist Jūzō Ōgami declaring himself a “totally normal first-year middle schooler,” a stark contrast to his true identity as a legendary 39-year-old assassin. Featuring key characters from Rikka Middle School, including Noren Mitsuoka, Chisato Shiraishi, Shin Kohazame, Tenma Tendo, Kotatsu Nekota, and Eri Wanibuchi, the PV highlights Jūzō’s barely concealed assassin instincts while capturing the unexpected excitement of his new school life.

“We’re excited to share that aespa has been selected as the opening theme artist for the anime KILL BLUE. The title of the song is ‘ATTITUDE’,” shared the group when commenting on the release of their song. “We believe the track perfectly matches the fast-paced energy of KILL BLUE. To everyone who’s looking forward to the series, we hope you enjoy the world of KILL BLUE together with our opening theme, “ATTITUDE”!”
In contrast, the ending theme “KILL SHOT” by RIIZE delivers a fast-paced, powerful track underscoring the series’ rising tension. The video features Jūzō’s determined declaration, “There’s no turning back now. I’m not gonna lose, no matter what kind of fight it is,” alongside glimpses of looming adversaries and high-stakes confrontations. Paired with RIIZE’s driving sound, the PV captures the unpredictable energy of a school life that may prove just as dangerous as the underworld.
“KILL SHOT is a track that captures the world of KILL BLUE, where ‘the front and the back’ and ‘the ordinary and the extraordinary’ intersect,” shared RIIZE. “Centered around a rock-inspired sound, the song features aggressive drum beats blended with breakbeats, creating a powerful impact. In the chorus, the melody expands emotionally, deepening the lingering impression of the story. We hope you enjoy the song along with the anime’s story.”
Kill Blue is described as follows:
A legendary assassin at 39. Starting over… as a middle schooler.
Jūzō Ōgami is a legendary hitman who has never failed an assignment, no matter how impossible. One day, after wiping out a powerful organization, he is stung by a mysterious wasp and collapses. When he wakes up, the fearsome 39-year-old assassin has been transformed into a 13-year-old boy! Before he can even process what happened, his boss delivers a new order: “In that body, infiltrate a middle school.” What awaits him is an unexpected school life filled with colorful classmates, youthful chaos, and looming danger. Can Jūzō ever return to his original form? Or will the assassins closing in on him end his second life before it even begins?
