Action Game Maker is Now Available on Steam

By Josh PiedraJune 16, 2025

ACTION GAME MAKER, the latest addition to the long-running “Maker” series of game development toolkits (RPG Maker, Pixel Game Maker MV) from Kadokawa Corporation subsidiary Gotcha Gotcha Games, provides would-be game developers and professionals a robust, intuitive suite of tools with today’s launch on PC via Steam.

Built to accelerate and solidify the game development dreams of beginners and experts alike, ACTION GAME MAKER’s extensive toolkit helps make magic, even without programming experience. Take advantage of a massive library of included assets, or swap in original assets for a one-of-a-kind visual style. Connect “Actions” using the visual node system to create an action platformer, shooter, puzzle game, or something else entirely.

Sample the entirety of ACTION GAME MAKER’s powerful toolkit in a fully-featured, limited-time demo available now until Friday, June 19, 2025. Using the Godot Engine 4.3 as a framework, ACTION GAME MAKER empowers game developers. Easily create intuitive UI elements, animate visuals using sprite and 2D bone animation systems, implement dynamic lighting and shadows with particle and shader systems, and more.

Not sure what those terms mean yet? You will! Eventually, you might even be ready to move beyond visual scripting. Take advantage of GDScript support when the time comes, and level up alongside your games.

To celebrate the launch, ACTION GAME MAKER will receive an introductory 10% off sale from June 16 to Monday, June 30. Everyone who purchases ACTION GAME MAKER between June 16 and Saturday, July 21 will receive the Maker All-Stars Skin Pack for free! The skin pack features a selection of 20 classic “Maker” series characters to add to ACTION GAME MAKER and can be used in place of the included sample assets on 2D bone-animated characters. The Maker All-Stars Skin Pack will remain available for purchase as DLC after July 21.

Join the RPG Maker Guild, the official community for all things “Maker” series, to be the first to receive official announcements and tutorials. Ask questions and chat with other creators on the open forums, available in both English and Japanese. All are welcome!

“We are proud to bring ACTION GAME MAKER to the broader game development community,” says Yusuke Morino, Producer at Gotcha Gotcha Games. “ACTION GAME MAKER builds on the node-based visual scripting system developed in previous entries in the ‘Maker’ series and brings it into the modern programming era with Godot Engine. We are looking forward to seeing all of the amazing games everyone will create!”

ACTION GAME MAKER is now available on PC via Steam for $99.99 USD with language support for English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Japanese, German, Spanish (Latin America), Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, and Korean.
