ABEMA Announces Original Anime Project PRISMation

By Josh PiedraDecember 27, 2025
Project PRISMation

“ABEMA”, a next-generation TV streaming platform, is proud to announce the launch of a new project titled “Project PRISMation”. This initiative aims to collaborate with the next generation of anime creators to produce entirely new and original anime works.

ABEMA launched in April 2016 and offers Japan’s only 24-hour news channel, with a strength in breaking news, as well as a wide variety of programs including original dramas, dating reality shows, animation, and sports.

Over the years, ABEMA has been streaming a wide variety of popular anime series while also producing original programs such as “Say You to Yo Asobi” and “SHIBUYA ANIME BASE”.

Beyond the streaming platform, ABEMA has also hosted large-scale offline events, including the ABEMA Anime Festival, one of Japan’s premier celebrations of anime culture.

Among its original programs, SHIBUYA ANIME BASE has featured exclusive interviews with a diverse range of professionals from across the anime industry, while the ABEMA Anime Festival has offered talk sessions and screenings that spotlight rising creators and the expanding world of independent animation.

Building on these efforts, ABEMA is now taking a bold step forward with Project PRISMation, a new creative endeavor designed to cultivate collaboration with emerging anime creators and bring fresh, innovative works to life.

Discover “Project PRISMation” by ABEMA, an ANIME Project that brings together diverse next-generation talents to create prismatically radiant original works.

We collaborate with individuals and small teams to bring unique and captivating ideas to life as pilot films, aiming to produce beloved works that resonate globally.

The project’s name, derived from “PRISM” and “Animation,” symbolizes a space where diverse talents converge to shine brightly, much like a prism disperses white light into a spectrum of colors.

Introducing the First Wave of Creators for “Project PRISMation”
The inaugural lineup for Project PRISMation brings together three creative groups from across Asia—each celebrated for their distinctive artistry and bold visual styles.

First is Zemyata, a Thailand-based creator known for his vivid color palettes and uniquely dark yet pop-inspired worlds.

Next is Uguisu Kobo, an independent animation collective formed primarily by graduates of Musashino Art University’s Department of Imaging Arts and Sciences.

And rounding out the lineup is rapitus, a Vietnam-based creator duo composed of RaPis and Tus, whose work blends surreal humor with striking design sensibilities.

To kick off the project, Zemyata and Uguisu Kobo each produced original pilot films for new anime projects, while rapitus collaborated with ABEMA on an all-new video inspired by their viral short Gluttomy.

All three works will premiere over three consecutive weeks starting Friday, January 16, 2026, on ABEMA and the official Project PRISMation social media channels.

Release Schedule:

  • Friday, January 16, 2026: Poppin-Play Kitchen — Original Concept, Director, Script & Animation: Zemyata
  • Friday, January 23, 2026: Gluttomy — Original Concept, Director, Script & Animation: rapitus
  • Friday, January 30, 2026: The Horrors’ Horror Home — Original Concept & Animation: Uguisu Kobo / Director: Rushio Moriyama / Screenplay: Yuya Matsuzaki

Looking ahead, Project PRISMation will continue beyond 2026, expanding its collaborations with diverse creators each year. Starting around May 2026, the project will also open public submissions for original concepts and works from both Japan and abroad. Further details will be announced at a later date.

As part of the CyberAgent Group, which operates ABEMA, the project reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to bringing new value to the anime industry under the philosophy that “great IP is born from creators’ passion and creativity.”

Through this initiative, ABEMA aims not only to support participating creators but also to inspire viewers to discover original anime works that embody the spirit of creative freedom.
