So…we have some things to discuss, now don’t we? Look, for the entire month of July, and part of June, fans have been asking for a Nintendo Direct to help tease out what’s coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 later this year and early in 2026. We know of some games that are coming to the new console, but trailers and release dates are few and far between. Numerous leakers stated that we would get a Direct in July, and, sure enough, they were right… It’s just that the Direct is a “Partner’s Showcase,” which has already put a damper on things.
Why is that? Traditionally, these Partner Showcases have not revealed anything significant. Most are just ways for certain 3rd party publishers to reveal that they’re bringing ports to Nintendo’s consoles. As you’ll see in the post below, The Big N even admits that the Direct will focus on Switch AND Switch 2 titles from their “partners,” which makes it even more unlikely that we’ll get something new, like an exclusive.
Join us for a #NintendoDirect Partner Showcase tomorrow, July 31, at 6am PT! Tune in for roughly 25 minutes of information on upcoming #NintendoSwitch2 and #NintendoSwitch games from our publishing partners.

That’s not to say we shouldn’t have hope, as this is the first Partner Showcase of the Switch 2 era, so, perhaps, Nintendo’s “partners” will do something special for it. We’ll find out tomorrow.
In the meantime, we’ll wait ever longer for a TRUE Nintendo Direct to drop and show us more gaming greatness that we can expect on the Switch 2 in the months to come.
