How To Bypass Prey’s Splash Screens

By Keith MitchellMay 5, 2017

No one likes waiting when they’re loading up a game to play. Sadly, it’s becoming the normal to throw splash screen after another whenever we jump into a game. And the recent release of Bethesda’s and Arkane Studio’s Prey is guilty of this. In fact, we don’t get just one splash screen, but four of them.

Thankfully, there’s a way to bypass those splash screens and we’re going to tell you how. Keep in mind that if there’s a patch release or if you uninstall/reinstall the game, you’ll have to create the steps. These changes will also not cause any issues with the game.

How to bypass intro splash screens

When you first load up Prey on the PC, you’re greeted to four different splash screens. You can basically go get a drink due to how long this tasks, however, there is a fix for this. Before you fire up the game, head over to  “steamapps\common\Prey\GameSDK\Videos” and rename the following files.

Ryzen_Bumper.bk2
ArkaneLogoAnim_Redux_1080p2997_ST-16LUFS.bk2
Bethesda_logo_anim_white.bk2
LegalScreens.bk2

TO

_Ryzen_Bumper.bk2
_ArkaneLogoAnim_Redux_1080p2997_ST-16LUFS.bk2
_Bethesda_logo_anim_white.bk2
_LegalScreens.bk2

This will basically force the game to skip those files, since they won’t be seen, and decreasing the time it takes to get the game loaded.
