New Trailers For Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers Released

By Keith MitchellApril 17, 2017

If there’s one thing that a good game trailer can do, is get you hyped up for the eventual game release. And that’s exactly what the Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers latest trailer does.

Sure, this is yet another port of a classic title, but also ends the drought of a Street Fighter title not being featured on a Nintendo console. Outside of Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition on the 3DS, Street Fighter Alpha 2 was the last title we saw, back on the Super Nintendo in 1996! So, of course, I’m happy to see that the Nintendo Switch is getting back into the fray.

Check out the new trailer below.

Included with Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers is the option to play the game in the original, 16-bit era graphics, as well as an option switch to an HD version similar to Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix. Dynamic battle from Street Fighter Alpha 3 also returns, letting you and one other to fight against a CPU opponent. I can’t forget about the first time we’ll see both Evil Ryu and Violent Ken (SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos) together in the same game, and playable.  Finally we have the “Way of the Hado” mode, which lets gamers perform Hadokens and Shoryukens, against waves of Shadaloo enemies.

In addition to the new trailer, Capcom has released a snippet of in-game music from the title as well.

Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers is set to be released May 26th, 2017, and is priced at $39.99. Now, all we need is for someone to release a decent fight stick for the Nintendo Switch. Hori, are you listening?
