Gearbox Software And G2A Team Up For Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition?

By Keith MitchellApril 5, 2017

In a twist, it seems that game developer/publisher Gearbox Software will be teaming up with G2A for the release of Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition. Yes, the very same shady key-reselling website that makes it possible to sell fraudulent game codes and other shady tactics. When I received this email in my inbox this morning and I thought I had misread the PR announcement. I mean, no self-respecting company would do this, right?

But apparently it is and you can’t make this stuff up.

Gearbox Publishing, People Can Fly, and digital gaming marketplace G2A.COM are teaming up on a limited collector’s edition of the upcoming Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition. The G2A Collector’s Editions will include unique figurines of Grayson Hunt, Trishka Novak, and Ishi Sato.

I won’t link the rest of the announcement, as I’m pretty frustrated about it all. While I respect Gearbox Software, I can’t begin to understand how they’ve aligned themselves with a company who is known for basically robbing other developers. I don’t get how the CEO of Gearbox Software, Randy Pitchford, would be ok with something like this.

As such, we will not be providing any coverage of Bulletstorm Full Clip Edition. We will not review the title or produce any further coverage for this title. No disrespect to the developers, People Can Fly, who will ultimately get hosed by this all. They need to get paid and I loved the original Bullet Storm. But this was a bad call by Gearbox Software.

Gearbox Software needs to take a step back and evaluate exactly what has been done. Especially before more sites and organizations drop any planned coverage of this title.
