Psyonix Contemplating Bringing Rocket League To Nintendo Switch

The Nintendo Switch has been getting a lot of support from developers from all over, moreso, the fans of certain titles are wondering if certain big name titles could come to the Switch. Especially since the Switch is a mobile platform and can be played anywhere.

The big one for sure is Rocket League from Psyonix, which has been on Xbox One and PS4 and PC, and even has Cross-Play. So, could it come to Switch? Well, Psyonix Studios’ Vice President Jeremy Dunham talked with IGN about this:

“Just like all the other platforms, we are evaluating it. We’re looking to see what the technical requirements are,” Dunham said. “We’re looking to see what kind of true community demand there is. We’re looking to see how it would benefit the community as a whole. So we’re still in that evaluation phase. It’s definitely too early to say that it wouldn’t happen, but it’s also definitely too early to say that it would.”

For them, this isn’t just about what they want, it’s about what the fans want, and so if the fans want Rocket League on Switch, they’ll try to accommodate, it’s what they do.

“I think we’ve shown over time we’re a community based company, and so what we’re doing first is seeing what kind of impact that would have and who needs it and who wants the game and we’ll go from there,” Dunham said. “Luckily the platform’s only been out for a month, so we have plenty of time to look to see how it’s doing and what our audience wants.”

Now, this obviously isn’t a confirmation by any means, but…it is interesting to think about, and this could bring a whole new level of players to the Nintendo Switch. What do you think? Should Rocket League get a Switch port? Let us know in the comments below!
