Breath Of The Wild Is The Second Best Reviewed Game Of All Time

By Todd BlackMarch 5, 2017
Breath of the Wild

The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild is one of the most anticipated games of all time, and its delays on the Wii U only made the wait more unbearable. Then, it was announced to not only be coming to the Nintendo Switch, but also, would be a launch title. The wait was almost over, then people started getting the game, and their praises have been sung ever since.

Metacritic has revealed that Breath of the Wild is now tied for the second best review score of all time, coming in at an astounding 98 out of 100 after 67 reviews from major media outlets. To put that in perspective, that means that nearly every review was a perfect score, or just below it. To put the rankings into context, the last two games to crack Metacritics top ten was Grand Theft Auto V and Super Mario Galaxy 2. So it’s been a while gaming wise.

For Legend of Zelda, the franchise now has the top spot via Ocarina of Time, and one of the No. 2 spots in Breath of the Wild. No small feat. The closest thing to that in the top ten is Mario via Galaxy 1 & 2, and two versions of Grand Theft Auto 5.

Metacritic

So yeah, this is quite an achievement. One that is well deserved by our estimations. We’ll have our review of Breath of the Wild up soon! In the meantime, check out Tyler’s BOTW First Impressions! Or, go straight to our Breath of the Wild Review!
