Insomniac Reveals More on New Spider-Man Game, Possibility of Sunset Overdrive on PS4

By Yhani JonesFebruary 27, 2017

Comic book fans got a special treat at E3 2016 with the announcement trailer of Insomniac Games’ new Spider-Man game and last week’s DICE Summit gave us even more to look forward to.

Creative Director of Marvel Games, Bill Rosemann, speaks a bit about the process of making and creating a brand-new authentic Spider-Man story with the Insomniac team and Sony.

This is our purpose: to show the world why this character is so awesome. To bring this fictional world into the real world. It’s very personal for us. We’re going to focus our life’s journey into this game, to celebrate him with the world.

Keep in mind that this is not the Spider-Man that many of us are familiar with. This game will introduce new elements that have never been seen in another Spider-Man game!

Insomniac Games

There will be many people working with Insomniac Games on this project , thus creating their largest team yet to tackle this game! That being said, it seems as though we are in for a big surprise with this new Spider-Man title in the works.

Speaking of Insomniac Games, I’m sure many of you all are familiar with Sunset Overdrive right? If not, you will see why I want this game on PS4 in the E3 2014 launch trailer below.

Insomniac Games brought this game exclusively over to Xbox One even though they have produced exclusives for PlayStation Consoles as well such as many of the Ratchet and Clank titles.

President of Insomniac Games, Ted Price, says that we may see more Sunset Overdrive in the future from them but no promises of a release or timeline yet.

Fortunately, Insomniac owns this game not Microsoft, and if their relationship with Sony on previous and future titles stands strong, PlayStation 4 owners might get a chance to finally play Sunset Overdrive for themselves!
