Brock Lesnar Officially Retires from Mixed Martial Arts

By Josh PiedraFebruary 15, 2017
Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar has informed Ultimate Fighting Championship that he has officially retired from Mixed Martial Arts.  The story was announced on MMAFighting.com and later confirmed through a UFC Spokesman.  As of this time, Brock Lesnar has not made any official public announcements about his retirement. Despite this, Brock Lesnar’s name was quietly removed from the UFC’s website as well as the USADA’s dug testing pool.

Brock Lesnar was suspended from UFC after testing positive for banned substances twice over the summer of 2016.  The tests were done leading up to his return to UFC where he was victorious in defeating his opponent Mark Hunt. Lesnar was also fined $250,000 for the drug test violations. His one-year suspension would have been lifted in July of this year, but that it is apparent Lesnar decided to retire instead.

Lesnar is still currently employed by World Wrestling Entertainment where he is scheduled to face WCW Legend Bill Goldberg at this year’s Wrestlemania 33 event on April 2. Brock Lesnar made his return to WWE back in 2012 and has accomplished many notable feats since then including a one-sided dominant victory over John Cena for the WWE Championship and ending The Undertaker’s undefeated streak at Wrestlemania.
