Beam Community Manager: ‘No Plans for PS4 Launch, Excited About Possibilities’

By Clinton Bowman-ChristieFebruary 7, 2017

With Beam coming to the general Windows 10 and Xbox One community within the next few months (now rolling out to Windows and Xbox Insiders,) it looks like there aren’t any plans for Beam to make its way to the PlayStation 4 anytime soon.

In a  recent twitter conversation, a Beam Community Manager confirmed that there are “no plans at this time” for a PlayStation 4 release. The company, however, is “always excited about the possibilities:”

Beam, is now available on iOS and Android devices, multiple streaming devices such as Apple TV and Google’s Chromecast. In addition, the service will also include Windows 10 and Xbox One streaming/broadcasting support later in Q2 2017. Beam, is definitely in a unique position after their August acquisition by Microsoft. Not to mention the upcoming Windows 10 Creators Update on its way soon, for Windows 10 PC.

It’s not completely surprising to see Beam not making its way to PlayStation 4. It’s nice to see that the Beam isn’t completely closed to the idea. Which is great for everyone involved with the platform.
