Dreamcast SHMUP Ghost Blade Heading to PS4, Xbox One, PC and Wii U

By Keith MitchellFebruary 7, 2017

When Sega discontinued the Dreamcast, the system had such a following that game development from multiple studios had continued. Various games kept popping up on the platform, despite it being dead for several years. One of those games was a top-down SHMUP called Ghost Blade, that was released in 2015.

Now it’s coming to the PS4, Xbox One and Wii U on Feb. 28th, 2017. A Windows version will also be released on March 8th, 2017. The title will retail at $9.99 on all platforms. Ghost Blade HD has it’s being called is being ported over by the original developer, Hucast Games and will be published by 2Dream.  And yes, the company is named after a player class in Phantasy Star Online.

Ghost Blade HD will also include 2-player co-op, online leaderboards, trophies/achievements, updated graphics and more.

  • Beautiful, detailed HD Graphics
  • 5 Stages with HUGE Boss Enemies with 3 difficulty levels
  • 3 Player battle ships with different gun types
  • Arcade-style gameplay and addictive scoring system
  • 2-player local co-op mode and online Leaderboards
  • 37 Trophies/Achievements

I didn’t get a chance to play it on the Dreamcast, but you better believe I’ll be checking out the HD remaster of Ghost Blade HD. For more info on Ghost Blade HD, head on over to the official website here. Expect a review from us once the title is released!
