Dragon Quest XI Confirmed for PS4, 3DS and Nintendo Switch?

By Keith MitchellDecember 19, 2016

Over the weekend, an annual party called Jump Festa 2017 took place. During this event, Square Enix had released a new trailer for their upcoming Dragon Quest XI title. that is being released for Nintendo 3DS & PlayStation 4. That, however, wasn’t the main surprise as it was later pointed out that Dragon Quest XI would also make its way to the Nintendo Switch. While the system wasn’t shown off during the trailer that played at the event, the game was confirmed via Nintendo’s website. New information regarding the title was also released regarding the title.

Since the Switch version wasn’t officially announced during the event, there were no specific’s regarding the title released. While Square Enix mentioned that the 3DS version will include a Street Pass function that will be different than what we saw with Dragon Quest IX. Since the PlayStation 4 isn’t a mobile title, it will have something specific the system, though they weren’t ready to announce what it was just yet.

Along with the announcement trailer, a short trailer that showcases gameplay from both the PS4 and 3DS version was released. While this isn’t the first time we’ve seen either version in action, this time around it was more polished.

Dragon Quest XI has been announced for a Japanese release so far, with no mention if the title will make its way stateside. Hopefully, that changes prior to its release in Japan. No Xbox One version has been planned and I wouldn’t hold out any hope for it due to the consoles current status in Japan.
