Youtube’s Broadcast Of The 2016 Game Awards Show Will Be In 4K

By Keith MitchellNovember 30, 2016

Earlier today, Geoff Keighley, the host of tomorrow’s 2016 Game Award show stated they would have content that will look amazing in 4K.

Shortly awards, Youtube posted an article on their blog regarding the state of Youtube’s 4K streaming and what they have in store. A bit further down below they go on to state that tomorrow’s Game Award Show will be available on 4K-supported devices and to check out the show at 9PM EST.

Supporting this new format will let creators and partners stream incredibly high-resolution video, and let viewers enjoy the clearest picture possible when watching a live stream on 4K-supported devices. The image quality is just mind-blowing on screens that support it, and in 360 degrees … the clarity can truly transport you. If you want to experience it for yourself, make sure to check out the Game Awards tomorrow, December 1 at 9 p.m. EST / 6 p.m. PST on YouTube. The entire show will be live streamed in 4K resolution.

So that means that everyone who picked up that new shiny 4K TV on Black Friday 2016, can take advantage of it. Seems like we’ll see a lot of new gaming content tomorrow, so get ready. PlayStation 4 Pro owners will be able to watch the show in 4K using the Youtube app, while those who own 4K monitors for their PCs can also partake in the 4K broadcast. Sadly, the Xbox One S Youtube app does not support 4K streams. We have reached out to Youtube for when we can expect it, but I highly doubt it will be prior to tomorrow.
